Meet Melissa
Hello, I’m Melissa, the person behind Veil & Violet. You may know me as Melissa Mystic. Whether you’ve been here for years or have only just found me, I’m glad you’re here.
For 18 years, I’ve offered guidance to people working through relationships, change and the questions that life brings. What matters to me is taking the time to understand the person behind the question and making our connection feel warm, honest and easy to approach.

Over the years, I’ve spoken with people at all sorts of turning points: the start of something new, the end of a relationship, a difficult choice or a moment when they simply want another perspective.
Those conversations have shaped the way I work. I’ve learned to look beyond the first question, listen to what matters to you and appreciate that even a small decision can carry a lot of feeling. I bring that experience to each person I connect with today.
A connection that feels comfortable
I like to keep things straightforward. You don’t need to have the perfect words or know exactly where to begin. You can start with the question on your mind, and I’ll take the time to consider what you’ve shared.
I care about giving you a thoughtful response that feels relevant to your situation. I welcome questions, respect different perspectives and want you to feel comfortable being yourself when you reach out.
A little about my life & work
The experience I bring with me
There is more to me than the website. My background includes working as a carer and a support worker, including supporting people with learning disabilities. Those roles have taught me a great deal about patience, communication and treating people as individuals.
I’m also studying counselling and working towards my qualification. Alongside this, I hold certificates in hypnotherapy and am a certified Reiki Master and Teacher. These are parts of my wider experience and learning, which continue to shape how I understand and connect with people.
What matters to me
Kindness, honesty and respect matter to me in everyday life, and they matter just as much in my work. I want Veil & Violet to reflect those values in the way I communicate and the care I put into each response.
I understand that reaching out can feel like a big step, especially when a question is close to your heart. You can share what feels comfortable, ask for something to be explained and take time to reflect afterwards. Your boundaries and the trust you place in me deserve care.
You know your life best. My aim is to offer perspective and encouragement while leaving room for your own judgement. Whatever brings you here, I hope our connection gives you space to think, feel heard and decide what matters to you.
